A judge sentenced a former child actor Skylar Deleon Power Ranger to death for the murder of an Arizona couple by tying an anchor and throw them over the boat against Southern California. Superior Court of Orange County Judge Frank F. Fasel, on Friday, the sanction recommended by the jury that convicted 29-year-old Skylar Deleon of killing Tom and Jackie Hawks of Prescott, Arizona.
Prosecutors say the Long Beach man and a young actor in a “Power Rangers” television series feigned interest in buying the boat and the couple was killed during a test cruise in 2004. Skylar Deleon dominated by a test cruise, tied to an anchor and thrown into the Pacific Ocean, as she begged for her life, according to the indictment.
After the yacht killings, prosecutors said, Deleon and his then wife Jennifer Henderson scrubbed the boat clean with bleach own in Newport Harbor. Hawk bodies were never recovered. Three others were also convicted of related charges. Skylar Deleon was also convicted in 2003 death of Jon Järvi, an Anaheim man he met in a program off of work.
The defense had pleaded with jurors to spare their lives to help their customers, arguing Deleon was abused by a parent drug and abandoned by his mother, leaving a predisposition to violence. Skylar Deleon lawyers were immediately on their guilt in the murders since the beginning of the trial, hoping to maintain his credibility when he asked them to recommend a sentence of life imprisonment without possibility of parole.
Skylar Deleon of the former wife of Henderson in 2006, was convicted of murder and murder in Falcon for the benefit of the death and was sentenced to two life terms in prison without possibility of parole.
